This Monday - Oct. 4th - Show Tom Delay he’s not wanted in Austin!

Tom Delay will be in Austin this Monday, Oct. 4th, at the private Austin Club on 8th St. and Congress downtown. Only Delay would have the audacity to come into Austin and have a fundraiser just blocks from where the first steps toward justice in the “Tomstown” scandal were finally taken last week. As the Houston Chronicle reports:

"AUSTIN - U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay plans to raise money for his re-election race Monday, just a few blocks from the courthouse where three associates were indicted last week on charges of illegally using corporate money to help Republican candidates for the Texas House in 2002.”

“There will be one key difference, however, between this fund-raiser and the activities that are still being investigated by Travis County prosecutors. The invitation to this $1,000-per-person event at the private Austin Club states clearly: "No corporate checks accepted.”

Austinites are planning to show up at the Austin Club to protest Delay and his pest controllers at TRMPAC. Republican state reps Jack Stick and Todd Baxter, who are currently running for re-election, are two of Delay and TRMPAC’s beneficiaries, and its time to show them that their corporate funded schemes will no longer be tolerated. Let’s tell Jack Stick to, “Give the money back Jack!”



Please join us Monday at 11:00am and fill the streets in front of the Austin Club so we can greet “The Hammer” when he arrives at 11:30. Lets make a bold stand against Tom Delay and the puppet Republicans he controls in Travis County. We must show Texas that Travis County will never accept Delay and the Republicans soulless politics of deceit, and help turn the tide against him and his corporate donors for good
