We were there from 10:00 till the motorcade sped through around 12:30. ALOT of cops.
Before the roads were closed down, there was lots of rush hour traffic, alot of honks and thumbs up, some ugly Republicans showing their "family values" by giving us the finger, telling us to get a job, we were a joke, we were disgraceful, we should be arrested, a hothead on foot going on and on about local zoning laws which somehow had to do with Kerry and, I heard, a fist fight almost broke out across the street in the Wawa parking lot where a pro-Bush heckler got out of hand. I had to move my car out of that parking lot because of it, though I don't know what the incident had to do with me parking my car there. I apoligised for any trouble with my car taking up a space, the manager just didn't want any trouble.
I went the extra mile to show we were just middle class "normal" people not wanting any trouble, just to respectfully let our voices be heard. That didn't stop the police putting on riot helmets, just in case we charged the car. It's a moderate Republican area, but plenty of Democrats as well.
The road I drove back on, the one where Bush's motercade traveled from Willow Grove Air Force Base, five miles, I'd say I probably saw thirty police cars.
