Amendment II Democrats?

Has anyone talked about establishing a liberal-progressive answer to the NRA - a gun-rights organization that is also sympathetic to many Democratic causes?

In other words, assault-weapon owners who think Bowling For Columbine is one of the best documentaries ever?

2. a progressive answer to the NRA

would be for these things:

the right for hunters to have guns and rifles

the right for target hunters to have handguns

strict licensing of gun owners, with a written and target test to make sure those who have guns know how to use and handle them safely.

outlawing automatic weapons, as no true sportsman would use them-they are merely people killers

4. You have your wish...

it is called the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence and to Help Democrats Lose Elections.

The organization was close to bankruptcy a few years ago and still maybe...evidently, not alot of people support their cause.

5. Who said anything about sportsmen?

The only concession I'll make is that gun owners should, in the spirit of "a well-regulated militia," demonstrate competence with firearms. But to demand that someone take a written test and score some bullseyes just to get a licence for a squirrel rifle? Forget it.

3. There's at least a few pro-hunting / pro-conservation groups

Not sure if they endorse candidates or who they would endorse ...
