1. Forgive me, but I have to comment on the artwork...
Nice pecs, great abs... but chicken legs? This painting is almost Pythonesque in its presentation...

(this is not to demean the people the artwork is representing.)

8. It's eastern orthodox art.
It tends to be darker and very detailed.

3. My Easter thoughts....

Just remember on this day. Christ supported the poor and told the rich that they were no more likely to get into God's grace than could a camel pass through the eye of a needle. He drove the moneychangers from the temple with a whip. His presence on earth was not to be glorified for his mysteries, including his resurrection, but rather to remind the rich to support the poor, and for all to speak truth to power.

Speaking truth to power is what Jesus was about. People who think that adoring another rich, spoiled, war-mongering white guy in the White House is the same thing as believing in Jesus are wrong.

Take that thought to church with you this morning, keep it close to you, and see how you feel later. *smile*

Jesus is revered by Muslims today as a prophet because he was a revolutionary who cared most for the weakest and poorest of us. Something we should all remember today, especially.
