Does anyone know Mari personally?

I just clicked on CNN.com, and there are soldiers missing from a support unit in Baghdad. I know her boy's in Baghdad -- does anyone know what type of unit?

Every time I hear about deaths, maimings, injuries, etc., to one of our soldiers, I immediately think of her son. :cry:

1. I don't know her, but I understand from her (two days ago)...

that she had not heard from Michael for 5 days, and that he usually e-mails every day. I also have not seen her around the board today and am a bit concerned. All we can do is keep her, her husband and Michael in our thoughts and hope for the very best. If we are lucky, she'll read this thread and respond.

2. havent heard anything yet. dont worry, Michael has been

mortared, where he is. He emailed my oldest son last night and said the mortars came into the compound where he is and killed many many people in the prison. he emailed last night, said it would get worse before it gets better.
havent heard from him today.
I dont know how long it take the military to contact the parents if anything happens.
so far the military has batted zero in our situation as to help and support.
every day theres no calls or someone coming to the door, is another day he isnt dead or wounded.
I almost wish he would be wounded, so we could get him home.

Will send it to my daughter and son-law. Charles called home last night. Outside Bagdad somewhere, cannot tell us where. He is fine, said they can hear and see the battle going on. He is very nervous, said things are bad. He is AF, and we do not know why he is there or what he is doing. Its very secretive. But we are breathing a sigh of relief for the moment. Hope all our loved ones stay safe, we pray for all.

8. They need to let those people go.

If the troops are drawing fire and "prisoners" are being killed then they should be freed. It's the US responsibility to provide for their safety. Lord knows they could be moved to the US, like German prisoners. But that won't happen.

Sounds like war crimes to me.

9. Michael would let them go he hates being there

but hes a grunt. and hes a kid, hes not a general or anything else. Hes caught up in it, and one of his emails to me was "the people in this country are sick of Bushs empty promises"
he isnt important enough to do anything. Just stand there and hope he isnt killed at this point.
