Does the US Military still use the M113 APC? I swear that I've seen them in footage from Iraq. I thought that they had switched all to Bradleys now.

1. Yes - Just no infantry

The mechanized infantry moved from 113's to Bradley's in the mid 80's. But most of the combat support units that are mechanized such as engineers, air defense, communications, aid vehicles are still in updated 113s. Not sure what model they are up to, but Army seems to regularly update the 113 fleets with new engines are hopefully better ballistic protection.

2. Yeah...

I've seen 113's as armored ambulances, and I know they still mount vulcans on em for air defense (Maybe they'll eventually use em against the insurgents like we used the mobile 40mm mobile AAA vehicles (Cant remeber what they were called) on infantry in 'Nam.
