I love Billy the Mountain! The original, of course, is graite, but I also love the one on Psychadelic Playground, which has some different stuff. I've always wanted to perform that song, since it's so wonderful and in that great tradition that's mostly out of the country/western tradition of telling a long story in a song-that-isn't-a-song.

i am the slime! I have a snake for a pet, the first noteworthy piece of real estate I destroyed was Edwards Air Force Base, and sometimes people on the strip of 100 motels refer to me, in their tacky little daddy's bottom drawer pamphlets, as the Grand Wazaa of the cult of pancake breakfasts.

27. You work at Joe's Garage? As the lawn man?

Joe's garage was on the side of Joe's mother's house.

I used to use a phrase out of 200 Motels as a sig line ("God have mercy on the people in England, for the terrible food these people must eat...") until a British person on a list I was on complained that I was being xenophobic for writing that. Uhh...I've eaten at the Royal Corps of Signals dining hall in Cheltenham, and Zappa was right. But every time I'd point out how bad these poor fuckers were being fed, they'd say I was right and then bring up the Spam omelets* our mess sergeant invented.

* The Berlin Brigade food distribution warehouse had this nasty habit of finding weird shit from the World War II contingency locker and forcing it on the units. One month it was canned limas, cases and cases of canned limas. Another month it was enough spam to give every unit 500 pounds of spam. So they diced the shit up and put it in omelets. The spam omelet is as nasty as it sounds.
