Sometime I snore. Miz t. woke up last night.
Sometimes I do a chainsaw snore and Miz t. moves to the spare bedroom.
I always feel badly about that.
:-(

This morning she said "Snoring woke me up last night."
"Aw jeez, I sorry."
"No, it wasn't YOUR snoring, it was MINE."

Whew.
See what you have to look forward to in your 'Golden Years'?

1. What are you doing about your snoring?
It kind of irked me that the husband knew for years that it was leaving me sleep deprived, and that sleep deprivation leads to all sorts of long term health problems. But he never could be bothered to do any research himself on how to reduce the snoring.

2. if the snorer has sleep apnea he is sleep deprived too
possibly much worse than the non-snoring partner who can at least go to another room

6. I use Breathe EZ

http://www.amazon.com/Dr-Leonards-Breathe-EZ-Snoring/dp/B000B8YXXG

Little clip that goes on your septum.
Works pretty well for me.

7. AWESOME.
Thanks for being proactive about it!

Now for the rest of the folks reading this who laugh or are apathetic about their partners having to deal with your snoring, chronic sleep deprivation increases the stress hormone cortisol and decreases the hormone leptin, which can lead to insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. More info: http://www.medscape.org/viewarticle/502825

PLEASE deal with it with the same seriousness you would if you found out your spouse was having to work in building that was known to have contaminated air or water that would cause health problems down the road.

There are devices like the one above, there are nose strips, and there's fairly simple outpatient surgery to fix it. All of them are much better options than causing serious long term health problems for someone you care about.

3. If I fall asleep on my back, Mr. m. nudges me sometimes
"You're snoring." Then I roll over on my side or stomach and it doesn't seem to happen again. I think if one's mouth is closed they are less likely to snore, hence these might actually work-

Maybe I'll try making one by cutting some slits in a stretchy hair/headband. :boring:

4. I snored really loudly one time, as I was falling asleep on the couch watching televsion
I awoke startled, and said "oh, hey, I guess I woke myself up with a snore". My daughter said, "Welcome to my world. I wake up every night thanks to your snores".

8. MiddleFingerMomMom AND MiddleFingerMomDad BOTH snored like fucking freight trains.
Edited on Sat Dec-10-11 09:43 PM by MiddleFingerMom
.
.
.
Both of them seriously (sometimes ANGRILY) denied that they snored
and told each other that their OWN snores had awakened them.
.
.
.
It was actually very hilarious to the MiddleFingerMomBrood.
.
.
.
.
.
.
When I was young, the ex-MsMiddleFingerMom told me that the only
time I snored was when I had been drinking... and that it was a
very "cute" light snore.
.
.
.
As I've gotten older, I'm starting to wake myself up with my snores...
but I'm pretty sure that it's STILL pretty light and that I've been
right on the outermost fringe of slumber (said the little engine that
could probably wake up the whole damn neighborhood).
