I am typing this on a kindle fire. I have used ipads but this puts them

2. Hi, Ohiosmith. I love it. It can surf the net, download books and

show them on a bookshelf in color, allow newspapers and magazines in color, allow to zoom or not for reading, has a touch type format, email, writing etc. All of it is beautiful, fast and clean. It is also 177$. It has heft, is neat and clear, its just the most fun. It is smaller than an ipad, rather the size of other kindles and that is nice. Ipads always felt rather large to me. I find it an awesome efficient beautiful thing. Your wife will LURVE you totally if you get her one. I just can't enjoy mine more. Surfing my websites, writing email, reading books and all. Its just a wonderful machine. there is more they do as well but I'm cube ratting now and can't access it. :P

4. i didnt want one. my husband ordered one for me in oct for bday. i LOVE it.

i didnt think i would have use for it. i have never seen an ipad or much of anything else. but, we went on vacation over thanksgiving adn for a week i had the fire and not computer. it was great. had it on all the time.

I haven't used one... I'm heavily invested in the iPad and the apps/games it runs.

I have a lap top, net book and my phone. That's enough for me.
