My stupid STUPID cats have killed and devoured a swan in my living room.
Or, it looks that way. The other day I bought them a cat toy that consisted (note the past tense) of a long dangly thing covered with white feathers. Silly me. Why did it not occur to me that the cats would tear the thing to shreds and scatter hundreds of white feathers all over the house?

It does look like they bagged and ate a large white bird.

1. Quit repressing the cats. Let them go outside and kill something that tastes better!
They are suffering from a deficiency of blood and guts. Just sayin'

3. Mine know lots of stupid tricks. Stupid cat tricks.
These generally involve hairballs. On the stairs. At night.

4. That's how cats are.
They're happiest when they're either killing something or pretending to kill something.

If they weren't so small....:scared:

That said, though, swans are fucking mean. I wouldn't put my money on the cat in that confrontation.

5. Give 'em raw meat 1-2x/wk and they won't want to kill.

Can't say anything about feathers, though.

Except:

Cats. Like. Feathers.

It's kind of universal, I'm afraid.

Oh, I forgot to mention. I heard the meat thing this morning on the radio.

6. My dog does that to the cat toys.
She'll shred them gleefully long before the cats ever get the chance to. She has her own toys, but they never have the fluffy, frilly feathers. One of my cats does have his favorite teddy bears, and she does know to leave those alone.
