Why would anyone counterfeit a Sgt Pepper album cover?
There are literally millions of legit one and they have never been expensive although they are now collectible.

Got a copy of Sgt Pepper on vinyl a local dealer and had a better look at it when I got home. The front cover graphics are about 5% larger than they should be so the album wraps funny. The inside graphics show up as an edge around the front cover and the front cover is missing the lower 1/2" of the famous multi figure group shot. I put it next to another copy and see that what I think is the fake has a yellow banner across the top that says "STEREO" in the middle. But mostly it is that the gatefold is wrapped sloppily. Also the fake weighs more than the real one. 306 grams for the original and 380 for the fake. Possibly the the fake has a cover under the outer graphic. I'm tempted to peel it back.

Anyone seen anything like this?

1. You just might have something valuable there
Miss printed postage stamps garner a premium from collectors.

Or maybe you have a badly scaled scan from a Macintosh printed on an old laser printer

2. There were, like, over a hundred version of the album released all over the world
No telling where yours originated. Some had the stereo banner at the top, some had 'original recording' banner.
