'McLemore Avenue' by Booker T and the MGs - Your Thoughts?

I think it is a genius interpretation of Abbey Road, and the Beatles as a whole.

Things come full circle here.

From Skiffle to Southern Blues to Liverpool and back to Southern Blues again...

Yes, at times it can fall into the easy listening category

But that becomes a strange strength, in a strange way.

3. I honestly can't recall
a single song off that album.

But I think "Time is Tight" is one of the finest songs ever. I still have the 45 with the little red plastic thingie so I could play it on my turntable.

4. It's all Beatles songs. Mostly off Abbey Road. But Booker T does them in his own way.
Lennon always wanted to write an instrumental album for Booker T and the MGs, and in a way, he did...

5. I should have said.
I can't recall hearing any of the songs, but I was aware of the format.

I always remember Steve Cropper when he talked about Al Jackson as "The finest drummer who ever walked the earth". I agree.

RIP Al.
