1. YES!
I used to get them from my catholic school library back in the 60s. I didn't realize then that there was a catholic-bent to them. I just liked the mysteries.

How about you?

3. I did.
I eagerly awaited each new book. This was mid-60's. I didn't realize they had a catholic bent either.

4. Yes!
Grandparents gave us kids the whole set over time. Read many times by the 5 of us. Mom still has them in her bookcase after all these years.....they still have the dust jackets too.

5. Read one or two. I was never carried away with them. I preferred Trixie Belden or Ginny Gordon.

The Ginny Gordons however, most of them I never read until I was a grownup and got them on
interlibrary loan.

Reading them as a grownup, it just wasn't the same...

6. Hell yes, I read every one of them
My mom got these for me via the Doubleday Book Club. Each month, two new books. I'd devour them both within a few days. The genius of this series was that they staggered the gender and ages of the brothers and sisters so that every kid had someone to identify with. You KNOW the creators of The Brady Bunch were inspired by "The Happy Hollisters" to a LARGE degree.

9. The Happy Hollisters
Very excited to see the discussion of The Happy Hollisters! These books (there were 33 in the series) were written by my grandfather, Andrew Svenson, using the pseudonum "Jerry West." They've been out of print for about 40 years, but I'm in the process of reissuing the series in paperback and eBook. If you're interested you can read more about it at www.TheHappyHollisters.com
Thanks for remembering The Happy Hollisters!

10. Pete, Pam, Ricky, Holly and Sue
The Happy Hollisters. I remember reading (and enjoying) 3 or 4 of their books-I didn't know there were more.
