So, we just hired another person at the place where I work. That's the good news.

I sat in on the interviews for the two finalists for the position. One was an annoying moron who clearly lied about her credentials. The other was highly competent and pleasant.

So, can you guess which one got hired?

Competency is, I guess, overrated. That's the bad news.

1. I remember one time
my boss hired this young woman and she was totally helpless, lacked any kind of natural motivation,
and just really kind of stupid.

He was usually pretty good about people (we were in recruiting), but he totally struck out on her.
I have no idea how she fooled him. She wasn't really that pretty so it wasn't that either.

Oh, and I had to train her. Impossible.

I know what you mean.
