Any of you guitar players have an opinion about Rocksmith?

I've been intrigued since I first heard of it. I want to give it a try. I know what you're thinking: "Oh god! This game is going to add a million lame newbies to the ranks."

But I'm 52 years old, never played a note, and I'm no threat to my local garage bands. I'd just like to be able to play a little.

1. If it actually teaches people to play

it's a good thing. It is advertised as doing just that. Far better than the "Guitar Hero" games which taught nothing about actually playing an instrument.
