53. Wrong on the worst.
"Disco Duck" was a joke song, created to make fun of disco.

The worst was anything by the Steve Miller Band.

14. Matt Davis & Roger Miller
Off hand, here are two of their songs that remind me of when I was young and sassy.

"Baby, Baby Don't Get Hooked On Me" - Matt Davis

"Dang Me" - Roger Miller (also, "You Can't Roller Skate in a Buffalo Herd" (but you can be happy if you've a mind to... doopedoopedoopedoop)

And I only know it because my mom had an 8 track by him that got played every time we were in the car for more than 5 minutes.

And when that one had gone through 2 or 3 times she would switch to her Billy Crash Craddock 8 track.

17. oh yeah, thanks.
At first I called Roger Miller Roger Williams, so at least I got them half right with Miller. :silly:

Billy Crash Craddock sounds familiar. I will look for him on You Tube.

8 tracks - wow, those were a long time ago. Like my younger days. :-)

I suspect if you heard anything, you heard Rub It In.

That stupid song is still rubbed into my brain lol.

I enjoy Mac Davis still though. My mom had a silver '77 Corvette and we'd motor around Dallas jamming out to Mac and Billy. lol

I just wish she'd taken care of the car - I'd love to have it today.

56. Ya know what? Eff us.
lol - if Matt and Roger mean the 70's to you then by golly you just go right on ahead and let them. Don't even worry about us coming in here all correcting for no good reason. In the end it's all about what the era meant to you and that's all that matters.

Those fellas had some good songs and I feel like a dick if I spoiled that for you.

On a side note, which really should be the main note, it's ELO - Evil Woman for me. I was still just a kid in the early 70s and didn't get to high school until the late 70s (And then was stifled by religious indoctrination so I never heard about a lot of bands/artists until afterwards) but one thing I do remember is hearing Evil Woman on the radio before my folks split up and mom got all weirdly churchy.

I've never heard the Eagles or Yes called a "wimp band." Styx I can't argue with, but I would quibble with Chicago. IMO, they didn't get wimpy till 1980. But I would add in Boston, Peter Frampton, the Bee Gees, Kansas, Hall and Oates???? I guess they are "wimpy."
