'Jesus Ween': Christian Group Promotes Godly Alternative To Halloween

It's got costumes, it's got candy, but for some, what Halloween appears to be lacking is Christianity.

To combat this apparent imbalance, one Christian group is promoting what it calls 'Jesus Ween', a faith-based alternative to the holiday.

The group's website says: "We are focused on helping people live a better life... Throughout the year and especially from October 31st till November 15th we hold several seminars on various helpful topics."

Jesus Ween participants are expected to hand out Bibles and other Christian gifts in "a friendly way", according to a promotional video. Instead of costumes, participants are supposed to wear white, to symbolize righteousness.

2. This right-wing nutjobs really need to think their group namings a bit better
I still remember whens someone posted over at Free Republic about how they would call members of their Tea Party movement 'Tea Baggers'.

I mean really - does anyone research this before the make it public. I mean I still remember seeing lil old ladies at Tea Party Rallies with giant tea bags hanging down from their hats.

Fun Fun

5. My Catholic grade school did something like this
For years, the 8th graders would take over the school and turn it into a haunted house. Everyone else would wait outside and then enter the school and the 8th graders got to scare everyone.

Well someone finally complained and by the time I got to 8th grade, it became a "heavenly hallway." Instead of getting to dress in a scary costume, we had to dress up as Saints. :eyes:

7. Hey, Fundamentalpatients - keep yer greedy mitts off of Halloween.
On the other hand, there's more horror in the Bible than you can shake a stick at.

And Christianity itself has a skin-torn Son of God nailed to a device of torture and execution as it's symbol. Can't get more Texas Chainsaw than that, I guess . . .
