Big banks to help clarify protesters’ message for the other 99 percent

Talk to their lobbyists. Then you’ll understand.’ It would really be a lot more effective message if more people understood it the way we do.” ...

Mr. De Rouble said he would be among the lobbying elite — all dressed in Berluti loafers and Valentino suits and bearing pizzas for the protestors topped with lobster marinated in cognac, caviar soaked in champagne, and edible 24-carat gold flakes — who plan to huddle with members of the youthful movement this week and give shape and clarity to their message and make it more understandable to regular Americans.

“They have concerns that more than a quarter of the income is controlled by the country’s top 1 percent. That’s long been a concern of ours, too,” said Mr. de Rouble. “I think we are both concerned about what would happen if all that money were to suddenly fall into the wrong hands.” ...

Mr. Marlowe said the lobbyists had already scheduled two dozen fund-raisers for the protestors from now until the end of the month, including a golf tournament getaway and lunch at Charlie Palmer’s Steakhouse, a Washington hot spot ...
