Poll question: Who's a better actor, Brad Pitt, or Leonardo DiCaprio?
I haven't seen a whole lot of either actor, but I've liked the few I've seen, with Inglourious Basterds and Inception standing out. (No, never saw Titanic.)

1. Both are at the top of this generation of actors
Say what you will about the media/paparazzi obsession over Brad Pitt, but he is an extraordinary actor who excells at comedy (Snatch, Burn After Reading) and drama (Moneyball, Fight Club, Se7en).

3. DiCaprio
Pitt can be really great with good direction, but he's a little too willing to coast on his looks and natural charisma and just kinda phone it in. DiCaprio always does good work, even in movies that otherwise aren't all that great.

Both are certainly actors that were underrated as actors for a long time because of their prettyboy image.

5. Pitt's accent in Inglorious was terrible.
I did like him in 12 Monkeys, Fight Club, and Seven though. Haven't seen The Tree of Life yet.

DiCaprio's got Gilbert Grape, Gangs of New York, and The Basketball Diaries going for him.

I'll give the nod to Leonardo for now for more consistent excellence.

6. It was SUPPOSED to be that way
It's pretty clear to anyone paying attention the movie wasn't supposed to be all that serious. Tarantino couldn't have made that any more blatant.

9. "the movie wasn't supposed to be all that serious"
Oh, I see!

THAT'S why I thought it sucked.

7. Wow that's a tough choice
I go to give it narrowly to Leo though, I think he's better at a wide range of roles and emotions, Brad Pitt is just really fun in anything he does but I get the impression it's because he's not too serious while Leo is taking it seriously.

8. The Aviator may not have been his best picture
But he deftly captured the genius and madness of Howard Hughes. It's still one of my favorites of his films.
