1. When it's over, write back and tell us...
just how many words they were able to leave in. Joe Pesci seems to get paid by the obscenity.

4. Not that kind of movie. Ralph Macchio is in it, for Pete's sake!

8. trivia
During the filming of the movie, an alternate version of the film was shot for television viewing. It omits all cursing not by bleeping or covering the words, but the actors themselves shortening or changing their lines. This version is usually seen on Fox Networks. (imdb)

14. Never actually seen it, I take it...
13) Prosecutor Trotter: Your Honor, Counsel, members of the jury, the evidence in this case is going to show that at 9:30 in the morning, January 4, both defendants, Stanley Rothenstein and William Gambini, were seen getting out of their metallic green 1964 Buick Skylark convertible with a white top. The evidence is gonna show that they were seen entering the Sack O' Suds convenience store in Wazoo City. The evidence is going to show that minutes after they entered the Sack O' Suds, a gun-shot was heard by three eye-witnesses. You're gonna then going to hear the testimony of the three eyewitnesses who saw the defendants running out of the Sack O Suds a moment after the shots were heard, getting into their faded, metallic green 1964 Buick Skylark, and driving off in great haste. Finally, the State is going to prove that the Defendants, Gambini and Rothenstein, admitted and then recanted their testimony to the Sheriff of Beacham County. Now lets get down to the live-long. Your verdict is gonna depend on what you think of the sworn testimony. Not what I think. What I think don't count. You're the jury. It's your job to decide who's telling the truth. Truth. That's what verdict means. It's a word that comes down from old England, and all our little old ancestors. Now we're going to be asking you to return a verdict of Murder in the First Degree for William Gambini, and a verdict of Accessory to Murder in the First Degree, for Stanley Rothenstein, for helping Gambini commit this heinous crime.

Judge: Counselor, do you wish to make an opening statement? Counselor?

William: Vinnie?

Gambini (waking up) What?

W: Come on, it's time to make your opening statement. C'mon, Vin.

*********** defense opening **********

14) G: Everything that guy just said is bullshit. Thank you.

18. 34 f-words, with multiple other dirty four-letter words and three religious profanities

The cable version seems like a completely different movie.

5. Yutes
I loved that.

Interesting note:
The movie is 'set' in Alabama, but filmed in Mississippi.
Not that you can tell one from the other mostly.
But, why?

6. Don't know, I'm sure lots of elements go into such decisions,
for one, 'subsidies' provided by different jurisdictions for such things.
Me, I ain't never been to neither, and don't care to go.

7. I love that movie...
I went and saw it in the theaters...I argued with my husband that any movie with that name was gonna be stupid. I laughed my ass off. We've seen that move far too many times. Even my kids watch it when it's on...we know all the dialog. Wow that's embarrassing.

10. NOTHING embarrassing about that, one!
23 + 26 year old daughters and I do the same thing, even tho we're geographically disbursed now! And fairly often recite: 'So ya put yaw little deer nose into da little brook and BLAM!!!!'

17. That's one of those films like Forrest Gump or Shawshank Redemption
If you're flipping through the channels and see it's on, you end up watching the whole rest of the thing.
