House in my town has Egyptian hieroglyphics. Looking for the bird/horseshoe
I've lived in this town for 20+ yrs and often pass this abandoned house with a high fence with a see-through barred gate, and there are the hieroglyphics at the gate and at strategic places along the top of the fence.

I recognize the ankh and the one, is it the sun disc with the curvey things on the sides. The other one at the gate is a long-necked bird like a heron?, but the long (one), straight leg ends at the bottom connected to an upside down "U" or horseshoe opening downward.

As I say, this property has been unoccupied forever. Somebody cuts the grass, but just cuts. The grass is not watered, just grows what will grow on its own and is cut. Not even grafitti-ites bother the property.

Do those particular three symbols together say something? Will look for graphics (of the symbols, not the house.)

5. The ankh represents perfect meat loaf
And the goddess feeding it to the pharoah is symbolic of his promotion to godhood.

3. O.K., found the 3rd one: "Was" = power
So we have the ankh = life; immortality. And this bird/upside-down-U = power. Will look for the sun disc.

So why all this monumental power situated in an individual dwelling?!1

Was

This is a symbol of power and dominion. The Was scepter is carried by deities as a sign of their power. It is also seen being carried by kings and later by people of lesser stature in mortuary scenes

4. O.K., the disc + curvies = sun and spitting cobras: more sovereignty/authority
What, did a deposed pharoah take up residence in this house?!1 The property is only a double-city-lot, but it's on a dominant corner of a very busy intersection of major thoroughfares, sort of protrudes and is almost moated by the two streets, plus the alley in the back, such that only one side adjoins neighboring property, which is a tract of acreage, such that there are no real neighbors in the sense of human contact. The structure and fence/wall are of 1950s type of elongated brick, vaguely of the ranch style, with wrought iron gate and topping to the wall.

What was going on here?!1

Uraeus (you REE us) (plural: Uraei or Uraeuses)

Wadjet (spitting cobra) and Sun disk. Nekhbet, vulture wings added later.

Spitting cobra:

The Uraeus is the stylized, upright form of an Egyptian spitting cobra used as a symbol of sovereignty, royalty, deity, and divine authority in ancient Egypt.

The Uraeus is a symbol for the goddess Wadjet , one of the earliest of Egyptian deities, who often was depicted as a cobra. The center of her cult was in Per-Wadje. She became the patroness of the Nile Delta and the protector of all of Lower Egypt

9. Check the local library and see if there was some sort of spiritualist society in town -
Could be Theosophists, or an Isis cult that kept a minor temple or worship area in that house. Or an early LaVayist - he linked the Biblical Satan to the Egyptian god Set when he was pushing his "Satanic Bible".
There were several cycles of spiritulist/mystery cult revivals in the US - the major 20th century revivals were in the early 20's and in the late 60's/early 70's. If the house was built in the 50's, chances are it was an Hippie/Isis cult or a LaVayist offshoot.
