both were pretty good - I'd say Fright Night was better overall of the two movies. They captured the spirit of the original, I think, and Colin Farrell was surprisingly decent as Jerry Dandridge. And, the guy who played Chekhov in the Star Trek reboot was pretty good as Charlie Brewster, and I liked Imogen Poots as his girlfriend. (She must have gotten made fun of as a kid with a last name like "Poots") David (Dr Who) Tennant was terrific as the new Peter Vincent - the British Vegas celebrity with a bad attitude.
While I liked Jason Momoa as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, I though he was decent, but not great, as Conan. The young Conan kid seemed to be a better Conan than Momoa... the lead actress was pretty good in her role, though not quite the ass kicker that Sandahl Bergman was in the original Conan movie. The bad guy from Avatar reprised his role as the lead bad guy in Conan and he chewed the scenery here in a good fashion, as did his evil daughter Rose McGowan, though she was given some odd lines ("the dress flatters you"???) I wasn't expecting a great movie and I got a decent action flick with some good effects and some good sword & sorcery.
Looks like neither did well at the box office, though. $10 million for Conan and $8 million for Fright Night.
