Dumbest. Product. Ever.
Edited on Tue Aug-16-11 01:28 PM by Brigid
I see this commercial every now and then: Latisse -- for "inadequate lashes." WTF?? There is a prescription for that? Um, isn't that what mascara is for?

4. Actually, if I made meatloaf, I might try the MLP.
It looks like it might actually work. But I live alone, and meatloaf isn't suitable for cooking for one. It only keeps for so long. ;)

22. Yeah, well he can stay out of my house, then
Mrs. gratuitous has to physically restrain me from the phone when the commercials for the meat loaf pan come on. Alton Brown would have to acknowledge that the meat loaf pan is the most perfect utensil for making meat loaf, and it would be a sin to use it for anything else. I suppose you could bake bread in it without the little insert dealy-bob, so it wouldn't have to be single function.

I don't see why I shouldn't go to my doctor and say 'Doc! I have inadequate unibrow! Fire me up an RX for some of that Latisse crap so I can deal with this!'

If he's still got his MD, he's allowed to write off-label prescriptions like that

41. How hard is it to crack an egg?
When they show that woman "peeling for hours" I wonder how many eggs she boiled. It takes me about 30 seconds to peel an egg with a spoon.

11. My niece used it and
it worked beautifully for her, without discoloring her eyes or eyelids. She had very short, skimpy lashes, and now they're long, thick and beautiful, and she doesn't wear liner or mascara anymore. She even had to trim a couple of the lashes because they grew too long. She said she didn't use the applicator that came with it. She used the tip of a clean liquid eyeliner brush and just dabbed a teensy bit of the stuff at the roots of her eyelashes at bedtime - one little dab for each eye.

29. Not only is it weird and has side effects, it is really expensive
A Walmart circular a few months ago advertised that Walmart pharmacies have this product for $99 per 30-day supply. And once you start using it, you must continue or your new fatter lashes will fall out.

You can get some really top-of-the-line department-store mascara for $20, and a tube of that lasts a LOT longer than a month.

bacteria and germs ya know. i myself don't wear makeup and could care less about my lashes. but i always wonder if they are just telling people that so they go out and buy more or if it is true about the germs.

33. There are preservatives in it now
If you don't share your mascara with other people, it's good for six months to a year.

But consider: if you were to buy a $30 mascara once a month, it would still be $70 a month less than Latisse. And no one would do that--you'd buy one or two a year, if you could tell the difference between the results of $30 mascara at a department store and $8 mascara at the drugstore across the street.

37. But is mascara enough?
I am blessed with long full curly lashes and people actually comment on them. I think that is weird, but never not having good lashes - I can't sympathize with the non-eyelash people - same with the no adequate boob people - blessed there also. What would I want? - Straight, shiny hair? I can get that with a Chi flat iron.

I know - small feet with cute toes!
