So they remade "Conan the Barbarian."
Why?

I walked out on the first one years ago, the only time I ever did that.

1. It was stupid as hell the first time.
I can't imagine it being any damn better this time.

3. I guess if you can't get it right the first time ...
... maybe it's worth trying again?

I think it bothers me more when you see a remake of a really great movie. Then the remake has no chance of being as good as the original.

14. How about the True Grits?
I loved them both but the first one I saw when I was about 7. Lol I still remember my dad telling me "Hey we're going to see a John Wayne movie!" and I was all excited until we got there and it turned out he said JOHN Wayne and not BRUCE Wayne. I was a little confused and mad that Batman was not on screen.

But I recently saw that one again just to remember and realized I liked it too.

However in general I agree there's not many good reasons to remake a great movie.

4. Why? Jason Momoa
I first saw him as Ronon Dex on Stargate: Atlantis - he was the only reason I watched that show.

Then he caught a bigger part as Khal Drogo in the HBO medieval fantasy Game of Thrones

He is hot. But he hasn't really had a chance to stretch out as an actor.. maybe this is his chance. Momoa's star is rising and, IMHO, he is definitely worth watching.

:hi:

8. lol yup - my wife and daughter have already informed me
that we are going to see Conan - for all those reasons.

Which is fine with me as I loved all the books and I didn't even mind the first movie. Arnie was terrible but back then I just wanted some fightin' and slayin' and choppin' and magical destroyin' and I got it.

Maybe this time around there will be some actin' too. lol

When we watch TV it's almost exclusively things we DVR'd. I generally control the remote and I always FF through the commercials. I get yelled at if I try to skip a Conan commercial though.

22. The incredibly purty Rachel Nichols is in it too.
So there can be fun for the whole family.

16. Kind of Small ain't he?
There are some roles that really call for an actor with the requisite attributes.

17. Momoa's not a 'small' guy at all...
He's 6'3'', but not the RoidRage case that Ahnold was...
Plus, he's actually an ACTOR!

18. He's definitely taller than Arnold
though, Conan in the novels was supposed to be 7 feet tall... Arnold is listed at 6'2" officially, but most say he's really closer to 6'0"

19. If you recited everything that Conan said in all the stories, it wouldn't
take 5 minutes. Man of few words.
