3. I saw The Clash open for The Who for the latter's first (of many such) Farewell Tour.
.
.
.
They were the third of three opening bands and we arrived late, missing The
Hooters (meh) and Santana (catastrophic... STILL have not seen them).
.
.
.
I was never a big Clash fan 'til I saw them live... fooking incredible and, to be
honest -- they blew The Who away.
.
.
.
Hall & Oates are one (two) of the many, MANY reasons for workplace-mandated
headphones/earphones -- IMneverHO.

7. would love to have seen the Clash
Have seen Santana about 6 times or more. Best was at Radio City Music Hall, the show that relaunched his career. Clive Barker was up front and Santana played until the union workers at Radio City turned the house lights on around 12:10am. Santana leans into the mic and says dryly "I think they want us to leave." For the 3 hours before that they were on fire.

I've seen The Who twice, disappointing. Not bad just disappointing. The first time I was a kid and they played in a high school gym. They just played their 45 minute set and left. Tommy and Quadro are great studio albums but both times that I saw them it seemed like they didn't want to be there.

8. I saw them open for The Who, too, in '82, woohoo!
Oakland Coliseum. Great show. They got a very good reception -- much better than most opening bands get.

9. I think '82 was that first Farewell Tour year. I saw them at JFK Stadium...
.
.
.
... (now defunct) in Philadelphia. Many in the crowd were RUDE during The Clash's set,
howling "WHO-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O!!!!" the entire time.
.
One of the things that caused me to like Joe Strummer even more is that he stepped up
to the mike and said something very close to, "FUCK YOU... THIS IS OUR FUCKING STAGE
FOR NOW!!!"
.
.
.
A sensitive artist, indeed.

11. I swore to god if I heard Leanne Rhimes one more time
with "You light up my life" I was going to kill someone. I went off on a call - came back, and that damn song was still playing.

I found that my co worker wasn't at his desk, ejected the CD, and broke it over my knee. We were both there after hours because we both had things to work on. He asked about that damn album. I hate lying, but I did in this case, because after 15 fucking times, I didn't want to ever hear it again (and didn't after time number 1)

12. For the last hour I've been listening to The Marriage of Figaro (Karl Böhm conducting)

The blood-sucker thread prompted a Stand By Me subthread which made me think of Stephen King which made me think of The Shawshank Redemption which made me think of the duettino aria Andy Dufresne played for the inmates.

Then I googled pictures of Rita Hayworth. :P
