For those who need to loose weight coming in the future: Metabolic supplements

From listverse.com

Top 10 Future Law Enforcement Technologies:

"SNIP............

9 Metabolic supplements

The future of energy science also includes supplements for human consumption, which can tailor the energy needs of a soldier or law enforcement officer to the support he has available. The ability to forget about having to support fundamental human needs could offer an incredible enhancement to the future law enforcement agent. Being able to control which energy gets used where, allows (theoretically) agents and officers to be faster, stronger smarter, and longer lasting than the opposition. It’s a bit like Viagra for the entire body. Products and procedures which would allow the genetic re-engineering of the metabolism, not only makes overweight people everywhere drool, it makes it possible for a soldier, officer or agent to function at peak capacity without the need to stop and eat, or even worry about eating for days at a time. In reality it’s not as far-fetched as it may seem. Scientists in several well respected labs have already made excellent headway in developing injections that can re-engineer human metabolic processes.

1. Lots of folks have metabolic problems that are solved easily.
Unfortunately, their doctors ignore them.

I'm talking adrenal exhaustion and hypothyroidism.

2. Isn't that what spinach did for Popeye?
I distinctly recall it going directly to his fist.

3. coming soon, whole new metabolic disorders and disease
This sounds like junk science if not actual psuedoscience. There is a lot of data now in peer reviewed scientific journals that weight loss and gain has little to do with actual metabolism itself. The idea that skinny people have higher metabolism and fat people slower is close to being discarded by main stream medicine. Weight loss and gain is very complex and may have more to do with the genes themselves and other factors including viral infections outside of the standard issues of simple calorie counting/increasing exercise.
Also messing the metabolism has the potential to wreak havoc on things like the natural biorythm of the body, including messing with REM sleep which can induce mental illness.
There are NO shortcuts or "magic pills" that are healthy in this arena.
