From the "You're never too old files".
I grew up waterskiing but haven't been out on a boat since I sold my Sanger in '97. I friend invited my daughter and I out today and this was what I did. It's called "wake surfing". You're basically about 8 feet behind the boat and you "surf" the wake. Didn't get good enough to toss the rope, but maybe next time. Not bad for a 53 year old geezer :)

Yeah, you maneuver to the sweetspot of the wake and it'll actually keep propelling you forward just like a wave in the ocean. I just haven't got the knack yet. :)
