I didn't know about that one does someone owe me money? I got a check for some class action deal involving my homeowners insurance company. A whopping 30 bucks. I didn't even know it was going on. What was the direct tv nfl one about? I have that.

12. Damn! I missed that
I subscribed to NFL Sunday Ticket for one year. Had I known about that, I could have pocketed between $8.33 and $20.83.

8. I Was The Lead Plaintiff
in a class action gender discrimination complaint against a large public utility. The public utility was not hiring women in their apprenticeship program, and those were very high paying jobs with excellent benefits. I had a wonderful attorney and we helped a lot of women get good jobs.

It was a long ordeal, but that utility never saw someone as stubborn as me! I knew I was right; I had obtained their hiring statistics under an FOIA request. They provided the data that proved my case!

That was many years ago, and we broke new ground when we took on this large utility. I am proud that we helped so many women make positive changes in their lives because they could get good jobs, acquire skills as craftsmen, and get out of the poverty cycle.

9. I'm getting ready to join one
I'm the executor of my cousin's estate. One of the major brokerage firms invested $300,000 dollars of her money in mutual funds. In less than 3 years she had lost half of it. Come to find out, this brokerage firm was taking under-the-table commisions for "pushing" these funds on people. The profits from these funds was funneled to pay the commisions so the stock fell. I can't go with an individual suit because 1) it would be very expensive and 2) she's dead and can't tell they court how they refused her requests to see a printout of exactly where her money went.
That money was invested to pay for her grandchildren's education. Who can you trust?

13. Yes, against Shell
They manufactured some pipes that were installed in a lot of homes and mobile homes. These pipes had a tendency to leak. So when I received a post card from the legal firm handling a class action suit against Shell asking if I wanted to participate, I signed it.

Right before then, I had a leak in a pipe in my kitchen, which caused the floor to cave in. I live in a mobile home and the floors are fiberboard.

They sent an inspector to the house to inspect all the plumbing and to see the damage done to the kitchen floor. Well, would you believe they replumbed my entire house and sent me a check for almost $900.
