Liberal, conservative, both, doesn't matter. Ideal articles would be on current landscape of progressive vs conservative think tanks, especially with focus on support from liberal vs conservative. Old example is nation article titled Why do liberal foundations give too little to too many? ('98) We've closed the think tank gap somewhat, but our think tanks still aren't as effective as the conservative ones.

3. Look for older articles by George Lakoff - especially pre-2004

His book, Don't Think about an Elephant has some of his writing, but a lot of his articles were about how conservatives began funding think tanks back in the 70s. He was really trying to urge liberals to get their own think tanks, but got frustrated with them.
