2. MTV was good for something
I can pinpoint nearly the exact second when I got too old for popular culture/music based on when I no longer recognize music videos or the artist who made them. It's probably a sin that I still remember Martha Quinn.

4. LOL. As for NOT Music Telly . . .
. . . . the beginning of the end of that station was when Corporate Radio and Music decided the 80s and beyond would be about the likes of Michael Jackson and Madonna and not underground/punk/new wave/college rock.

The nail in the coffin was when they figured out that their advertising blocks were more effective when placed around a 30 minute reality show as opposed to a string of videos. Goodbye music!!
