Poll question: Why did Mary M and Jesus' family mistake Him for a gardener?
As we all know from the Bible, Jesus called down to them, asking "Why do you search for the living among the dead? Jesus is not there."
To which Mary replied... "Please sir, if you have taken my Lord somewhere, please tell me where..."

Don't you think she would have recognized Him?

1. Jesus was probably on top of a hill or something since He "called down..."

...to them. So there was some distance from the women, who were already under the assumption that Jesus' body had been stolen. And from that, there would be the resulting stress and anxiety which may have clouded her perception of who she saw at the top of the hill. Furthermore, since this was early in the morning, she could have been staring into the sun and not seen Christ's face clearly.

At least she didn't think He was the Easter Bunny :)

3. She was upset?
That is the only thing I can think of since she knew him well.

4. that's probably it
I mean, she still had to be extremely distressed seeing her Lord killed three days before, now she finds out his body is missing. It'd most certainly be enough to cause a person to not think or comprehend normally.
