I'm moving soon, and I hate to leave the place where kitty passed
Beloved ginger tabby Keiko passed in this home in March, as I sat with him and cried and patted him. I feel sad about leaving the place where he last was so alive, so sweet, so dear. I planted him in a big whiskey barrel where I had planted his old tabby pal Chester, and that barrel now sports lavender, and pretty daisies and grass. It will go to be by the front door of my new home.

But his spirit was last in this place, in this bedroom. Maybe there's some kind of ceremony I can do to capture the spirit and take it with me.

Is that silly?

1. No, keep the memory as long as you need. Where you headed? Hope it's all for the good.

2. Not silly.
I have some pets buried at my current place and I know it would be hard for me to leave.

But at the same time, you know your kitties are really with you, in your heart and mind, not in that barrel. You'll be taking them with you wherever you go.

6. That's why I had my kitties cremated
They move with me, and in the end, we're going to all become part of one big concrete block in an artificial reef. That way they can always watch the fishies swim around.

4. Nope, not at all.
I felt the same way, leaving our house in MD recently where so many of my beloved pets passed. I don't know about any ceremonies, just know that you are not the only one to feel this way.

Not silly in the least. Peace to you.

5. I lost a kitten in one town and totally brought him with me when I moved to another city.
A year later I still could not bring myself to get a kitten again, it hurt to much. So I went for an adult cat and found a wonderful one.

7. I just invited their spirits to come with us...
told them where we were going and that I wished they would come along. I'm pretty sure they did!
