I can't stand "I and Love and You" by the Avett Brothers. It reminds me of a dirge.

And who gave a whiny chump like John Mayer a recording contract? I'd rather listen to broadcast tone. :puke:

65. I totally agree about Radiohead and Coldplay.
Edited on Mon Jul-18-11 11:45 PM by Kat45
I absolutely cannot stand Radiohead! The weird thing is that even though I'm not incredibly familiar with them, I almost always recognize them when they come on the radio. I finally figured out why that is: I hate Tom Yorke's voice, and that's what I always recognize. (I don't like the music itself either, but it's that voice that makes me cringe.)

As for Coldplay, my dislike for them takes a different form. Whenever the DJ mentions that he's played Coldplay in the previous set, I can't remember the song at all. Coldplay's music is like wallpaper to me, boring and completely unnoticeable.

Especially after they played it on his show.

And since I can't find the real performance anywhere, here's the fake version from the movie....

on the public airwaves. Anything I read about Ed Sullivan makes him look like more of a douche.

Can't remember if it was on the movie or I read it, but apparently when Sullivan said they would never do the show again, Morrison said, "But we already DID the Ed Sullivan show."

44. Anything labeled "Adult Album Rock". Oh, and Lady Gag
My very favorite cafe in the whole wide world (Zabak's) has their SiriusXM station set seemingly permanently to "The Spectrum", and even one of the siblings running the place is sick of it ;)

Adult Album Rock on the Spectrum, or as I recently re-labeled it on my blog:

“Old Hippies Still Reminiscing While Keeping Their Kids Happy With Modern Bands” station :P

I know lady gaga has cool opinions, but her "sound" is really no different than all the rest of the commercial crap out there, and why I am so very thankful for existence of somafm :D

If he came around today, he'd just be another twangy country and western sensation in Nashville.

57. A lot.
Rage Against the Machine, good intentions and all, bores the shit outta me musically. Let's not even count their mook/frat boy slobberers ("U hav NO fuxx1r9 music taset, azzhol! LOL!"); you'd be surprised how many supposed "mature" music fans literally want to hang you for even having such an opinion. It's sad, really.

Tool doesn't do much for me either. It sounds like Neurosis/Lysol-era Melvins-lite.

I don't get the Nirvana worship. Husker Du did this sort of thing way better.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers had one good album. Blood Sugar Sex Magic wasn't it. That band's been phoning it in since 1994 and played arenas regularly.

Pretty much all jam bands.

My Morning Jacket (no get. AT all. Sorrah)

The White Stripes. Watched 8 videos. Listened to three entire albums. Twice. Fify-star reviews be damned, I think they're mediocre at best. I find his vocals to be shrill and annoying as hell and their play-behind-the-beat drummer sounds like shite.

Yeah, I'm from Northeast Ohio and don't see what the big pants-shitting deal is about the Black Keys. Although Patrick Carney is still better than Meg White.

Vampire Weekend, Foster the People, Phoenix, Manchester Orchestra or any of the other boring, happy-ass ironic indie bands my record store manger brother-in-law gets into.

Madonna and Madonna Part II.

Moby

Fatboy Slim

No Doubt

Green Day and the 7 million or so bands that sound exactly like them.

Hinder . . . there must be more people out there who wish Creed would kiss and make up than I give credit for.

Kid Rock. It's almost cute how he's trying to be like . . . a legendary musician or something.
