Are concert tickets really that much now? It's at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, which I think is owned by Clear Channel.

1. Rush tickets for Nashville were about $60
Well I ordered 2, and the total was 129.50, with all the fees added on. The venue, I think, is also owned by CC.

2. it's to cover his legal fees
Being a wife-beater and all. Plus, his coke habit...

Actually, prices gouge in the triple-digits these days based on "legendary" status. The average price for "current" acts is $30-$35. It spikes when that have name and influence cachet.

3. The godfather of soul has a coke habit?
Still?

Too much money for me.... I would have loved to see him live but no way can I spend that much.

4. I don't know
But with him I expect the worst. lol You should be used to my cynical insights by now. ;-)

He is way past his prime. If you could see him early 1960's vintage, then you should pay $200. But now? Enjoy your albums instead. A 6 pack of Full Sail will get you there.

5. Did I not read about James Brown performing at some Repub function some
years ago? Or was that all some twisted bad dream? Or does he just play whatever venue will pay his price? Hard for me to imagine the Repubs getting down to the Godfather of Soul.

I guess when "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag", the Bag is Barbara Bush?

6. Ouch!!
You're right, she is an old bag. The stories about what a wicked witch she is are emerging. The facade is crumbling.
