I had only seen Mr. Hulot's Holiday before - wow, what an amazing statement that is both about nothing and everything.

Kids liked it too, the sounds in that movie are a character within itself.

And he predicted cubicles, as well as IT.

2. Tati's use of sound in Mon Oncle is delightful.
And unforgettable. He captures the absurdity of the ultra-modern home, the factory, traffic jams etc with hilarious sound effects. One of my favorite films.

3. Genius. A beautiful film.
The restaurant scene! His framing and pacing, it's just a brilliant film.

4. Oh, and it's available from Netflix in high def.
Must see it in HD. They show it on AMC but the source is not HD.

5. Tati is one of the greats.
You were looking for good French films for your child.

6. Yep - someone suggested Tati
And yep, Netflix had it on HD.

Beautiful movie, even tho the kids got bored.

What's funny is how prescient that movie was to today.
