So, your bully from HS...
calls you out of the blue and tell you that you're one of his best friends and it just took him 10 years to figure that shit out, you'd be a little weirded out, sympathetic but weirded out?

I kinda am. It didn't help that I was sleeping when he called and he refused at first to tell me who was calling. We're Facebook friends but I thought no closer than that. He's a good kid, he just got seriously f**ked by life growing up and took it out on everybody. People called him dummy and I was the smartest person he knew so...yea, bad times. I think he invited me to his wedding and I might have accepted in my confusion as to what the hell was going on.

1. I'd be flattered
Really, I would be very flattered if such a thing happened to me. Doubtful though. But what is it they say? Reality is stranger than fiction? Seems to be holding up in your case. You have nothing to lose by going to the wedding - and a lot to gain. Time can change people, often for the better. This could be a chance to get a good close friend, past not withstanding. I imagine he probably had to work up a lot of courage to make the phone call to you - just try to view things from his perspective.

6. True that ^
I'm not sure that I'd bother attending the wedding though.

9. I had a friend give one of my bullies my email
I was *not* happy about that, seeing as how this girl made my life hell until she moved just as we started high school. Anyway, she sent me this long email about how rough her life had been since then (and wow, it really had been---serious illnesses, dying & being revived, etc) & all I could think of was "wow, talk about karma."

and then I somehow got sucked in to having lunch with her when I was in town. The kicker---as I'm getting out of her car, she reaches over & grabs my arm, tears in her eyes "Thank you for coming. I know I was horrible to you & I'm so sorry. Thanks for having lunch with me & letting me say this."

Kinda hard to keep up the anger & outrage at someone who's been through hell & then owns up to the fact they were an asshole.
