1. Dave Alvin...yeah....saw The Blasters about a half dozen times, and Dave and The All-Nighters too.
Great writer and guitar player.

4. The All Nighters show (opening for Los Lobos in Chicago) had a most unexpected and cool encore

Dave and his pedal steel player joined Los Lobos for a couple of encore songs (don't remember what) and then John Doe sauntered out onto the stage in cowboy boots and hat, and sang Your Cheatin' Heart with all of them.
