Miraculously, when I threatened an audit, the bank found all the payments...
just a vent about our business rent payments not being accurately reflected by the bank. They kept sending inaccurate information to our landlord and the landlord kept threatening US with late fees, etc. Left it up to US each month to prove we sent the money. All the checks cleared our bank and theirs and it was getting very frustrating.

Today, a small victory as someone at the bank took the time to look up the information and get it straight. Meaning, they did their job.

1. Amazing how many times you have to threaten legal action

just to get some outfit to do their job.

A friend had to deal with their mortgage company that way. they were cashing the check on the 5th and not posting it until the 16th so they could charge a late fee. After several arguments with them she started sending the check Registered Mail-return receipt requested. For two more months they still tried the same scam.
When she informed them that she was going to the Attorney General's office with the information they suddenly refunded her late fees and she never had another problem with them. Who knows how many other homeowners were getting the same treatment.

2. My dear Phentex!
Good for you!

I always wonder, though, just why it is we have to threaten legal action just to get these companies to do what they're supposed to do in the first place.
