What song(s) would you like to see made into movies?
Edited on Mon Jun-13-11 12:54 PM by charlie and algernon
A lot of songs tell great stories and could be made into decent movies.

I'll ignore some of the more obvious Billy Joel songs, but I think "Miami 2017" would make an awesome movie about the evacuation and destruction of New York City. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPpKfnNkDB0

I've also always thought that the Black Crowes' "She Talks to Angels" would make a good drama, very powerful story about a woman who copes with tragedy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6w2NSELe0A

2. How about a Bruce rock opera?
Or a Broadway show along the lines of Green Day's "American Idiot"?

4. Pig Destroyer's "song" Jennifer.
Edited on Mon Jun-13-11 04:33 PM by Forkboy
Jennifer wrestled her friend playfully to the ground
in front of the snow cone stand and began licking at the
girls eyeballs, as if they were sugar cubes. Their
bodies convulsed and flailed with an almost seizure
like intensity. At times their pale limbs seeming to
shift back and forth from one torso to the other. A
crowd gathered almost immediately to watch these two
girls tie and untie their bodies like a pair of
pit-vipers. They were confused, or concerned, or
shocked, or aroused, or all of the above. But no-one
dared interfere with the performance. Jennifer's long
ashen hair hung down concealing the girls face like a
curtain around a hospital bed. No one had any idea
that the girls eyes were revolving under her ruby
tongue. "This is disgusting, it's pornography"
exclaimed a pasty slut white woman in a fur coat,
vanilla ice-cream smeared across her double chin like
a money shot. Countered a balding professor type in his
mid-forties, his left hand stuffed crassly down the
front of his pants "No, no, no. This is beautiful,
this is art."

Has Summer blockbuster written all over it!

10. The Way We Were
I can just picture it: a loudmouthed Jewish girl meets a guy in college, they aren't compatible, but they meet up again years later, get married, and her political opinions threaten his career so they end up getting divorced. But it's the laughter they'll remember whenever they remember the way they were.

13. Rivendell, by Rush
If done right, it could be an awesome movie.

Sunlight dances through the leaves
Soft winds stir the sighing trees
Lying in the warm grass
Feel the sun upon your face
Elven songs and endless nights
Sweet wine and soft relaxing lights
Time will never touch you
Here in this enchanted place

You feel there's something calling you
You're wanting to return
To where the misty mountains rise and friendly fires burn
A place you can escape the world
Where the dark lord cannot go
Peace of mind and sanctuary by loud water's flow

I've traveled now for many miles
It feels so good to see the smiles of
Friends who never left your mind
When you were far away
From the golden light of coming dawn
Till the twilight where the sun is gone
We treasure every season
And every passing day

We feel the coming of a new day
Darkness gives way to light a new way
Stop here for a while until the world
The world calls you away
Yet you know I've had the feeling
Standing with my senses reeling
This is the place to grow old 'til
I reach my final day.
