1. I have a friends using each of these.
The woman using Boost (and also for her teenage son) will not shut up about how great they are. The woman using Virgin will not shut up about how awful it is.

2. May I suggest a third alternative?
Take a look into CREDO mobile. I'm going to be switching over to them as soon as my current contract expires. It's run entirely by Democrats and a large portion of it's funds are funneled directly into liberal activism with donations to the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, Doctors Without Borders, and Amnesty International to name a few. Also great: and the company is green!

4. Thank you.
I've now made a decision on who I'm going with in around 60 days.

5. I keep getting offers from Credo
To pay any early termination fee to come over to them. You might not have to wait out your 60 days, if you go look.

8. I can hardly wait until my contract is up with CREDO.
Their customer service is terrible. I told them I did not care if they gave every dime to Dennis Kucinich, they are such a pain in the ass to deal with. I'm looking forward to switching to either Cricket, or perhaps a pay-as-you-go plan like I had before.

But of course, YMMV.

3. They are both using the Sprint network (in the USA)
Boost runs on both the regular network and the NexTel network (which Sprint acquired) and offers the BlackBerry and some walkie talkie capable phones. Virgin runs on the regular network and has a couple of Andriod Phones. Both offer unlimited texting and web. Minutes vary per plan. No contract but you have to buy the phone. Be aware that web surfing on any Boost "walkie talkie" capable phone is kinda slow because those use the NexTel network which does not have the bandwidth that the regular network has.

Of the two, I recommend Virgin with the LG Optimus. That said, it all depends on what network works best where you live and work and what features you value most. You might want to check the coverage maps. The best thing about these no-contract phones is that they are returnable in case you don't like them or don't get good service. The only thing you will lose is the money you paid for your first months service so most folks start with the cheapest plan.
