I had a guest complain about me today...
I took her order to her room and asked where she'd like to have the tray placed. She said on the table. She moved some stuff and I went to put the tray down. There were some kind of ID's (perhaps licenses) laying on the table and the tray would have been on top of them. I informed her that I was moving them to the side so they would not get lost. After placing the tray down I commented that I thought for sure I would be the only one awake at that time. She said no, we're awake. She signed the check and I left.

About 10 minutes later she called back down and said that 'the server made us feel uncomfortable and intimidated' because I had moved their things from under the trays. They were afraid to eat the food that I brought to them and wanted it remade and wanted a female to bring it up. I did not tell them that I was the person who brought the order up. I asked the young lady at the front desk for assistance and she took the order to the guests.

Never in almost 25 years have I ever been called 'intimidating'. Sigh. This is going to totally ruin my day.

3. don't let that ruin your day. Weird people are weird.
Some people understand other people and some don't. Don't let someone else take the good away from you, you can decide to ignore that.

:)

4. I can understand you being bummed about being thought intimidating, but

5. Don't let it bother you. As other posters have commented, she was
strange. I was once sitting in a restaurant minding my own business when a waiter accidentally put a plate in front of me intended for the woman at the next table. She watched it happen. The waiter immediately realized the error and picked up the plate. I never touched it - never got near it. The woman saw I never touched it. The whole episode took seconds. However, she began to make a huge stink and told the waiter she wanted that food tossed and an entirely new dinner brought to her, as though that plate being in proximity of someone else was enough to contaminate it. I've never seen anything like it.

So, your incident doesn't surprise me. Chalk it up to an unfortunate encounter with someone who was a little peculiar.

6. Keep your chin up!
There are always going to be idiots in this world who get their moment of power by trying to get someone else in trouble.

How much you wanna bet this woman is a Republican?

7. She probably thought you were going to slip her a roofie.
After all ... you're the only two awake right now, heh heh heh!

But seriously, there are nutballs everywhere, and no possible way to avoid setting them off. You shouldn't give it another thought, except maybe to laugh about it.
