Anyone else here like Bon Ami cleaners?
I love using them. They're more natural, inexpensive, and they do the job. They also smell good. Anyone else use them or something similar?

1. "Atta Boy, Luther!!!"
Sorry, I just can't think about Bon Ami and not think of the Ghost and Mr. Chicken. I always wondered if the was one of the first incidents of product placement in movies...

6. I love that movie!
I've tried to talk my town into showing that at Movie Night in the Park. They still don't listen, though I did get The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance two years' ago. That was my big coup in my town.

2. Just their powder cleanser in my sink, and it's perfect for that.
For almost everything else I use Mrs. Meyer's :)

Recently, I tried another cleaner (mainly for getting rid of mildew) called Ultra-Ion Green. It works very well, and is good for other kinds of cleaning, such as cat hoark ;)

4. We're using the same brands, didn't know about the Ultra-Ion Green, though. Will try it out.

14. The Ultra-Ion Green is made by a company
whose primary business is waterless car wash products. I have used those for years and love them, though you'll find plenty of car enthusiasts that worry about it scratching. Considering that the grit all over the freeways (not to mention sand for those in northern climes) practically sandblasts your car every time you drive it, I'm not worried about "micro-scratches" in the paint. I haven't seen any detrimental effects so far, and my car is seven years old.

Here's their site if you want to read more on their products:

7. I've never used Mrs. Meyers.
I might have to sometime!

Bon Ami is headquartered out of KC and I live close by so I tend to buy it. I love the powder. I think it works better than Comet and I pay less for it. (Comet-$1.19 at Dollar General, Bon Ami-$0.89 at the Bi-Lo.)

13. So, can you get a discount by buying it at the factory?
:P

Just kidding, but it's cool you live nearby to it. It's great to see some useful things still made here :)

Mrs. Meyers is also scented with essential oils, so you get a truly natural scent and the aromatherapy benefits of it, too. I have been amazed at how well it cleans up in the kitchen. It works wonderfully for this slob! ;)

16. I wish!
Now I think I need to ask around and find out if anyone works there. I sure could use a discount...

You can buy it in bulk online, though I've found it much cheaper if you check out sale prices in the store. I was able to get the liquid cleaner on sale for $1.50 a bottle with a limit of ten bottles about a month ago. I purchased the limit, of course.

I looked for Mrs. Meyers and I have to drive out of town in order to purchase it. I might have to try the laundry detergent next trip to the city!

19. Tah-Dah! Mrs. Meyer's in bulk here, delivered to your home:

Fool around the website and see what you like. I prefer the large size of lemon verbena for laundry. It lasts a long time.

20. thank you!
I'll have to look into that when my detergent runs out. A friend made detergent for us recently and this should last about six months.

8. Not in my house.
My kid cleaned with it once to prove she could make it scratch. Turns out it will if you apply it with sandpaper. x(

9. That's why I like it.
And with the headquarters in KC is doesn't travel as far, at least for me. Plus, it's pretty inexpensive, compared to some cleaners.

10. I mostly use comet or bleach.
I don't see the point spending $4 for a little bottle to clean tile or a toilet when a little bleach does a better job. Clothes you don't care about and ventilation are a must, of course.

11. The powder works same as Comet
and I only spend $0.89 for it at the local Bi-Lo grocer. The cheapest place in town to buy Comet is at Dollar General and it runs $1.19, last time I looked. It also worked better than Comet. I noticed I scrubbed less and it wasn't as smeary.

I prefer vinegar to bleach for cleaning. It's not as nasty and it's still pretty cheap-around $2.00 at Walmart.

17. No chemicals, the
powder can be found quite cheap if you look around, and it's been in business since the late 1800's. It's inexpensive and it works. I used it for a long time then couldn't find it. Now it's coming back and I'm finding it at a couple of places.
