3. Let's see...
How about "I'm your mom, and if you know what's good for you..."

Or "It's an emergency" sort of thing!

Good luck with any of those!

BTW, do you have a phone number for MFM?

Wanna share?

:P

6. He wasn't even sure where they were sending him,
but soon as I know something I will let you know. Alternatively, UMC may have that info at some point and we can track him down that way if I don't hear from him in the morning some time. (He had your number at one point but he does lose these things regularly - even when he isn't distracted by being schlepped around in a backless gown:rofl: )

4. Good for him!
A co-worker of mine was a bit upset the other day when she asked me what kind of vehicle we were buying our son for his 16th birthday next Tuesday. I told her, "Uh, nothing." She was shocked. I said, "He's buying his own truck." She was floored. I explained to her that my husband and I bought our own vehicles at 16 and we were continuing that tradition with our son. Told her we'd pay his insurance as long as he keeps his grades up to get the good driver discount and until he's finished with school.

The boy's been working since his was about 10. Farm boys are a different breed. He's saved his money to buy his 4-H animals, whatever he needs to take care of them, and his own new to him 4-wheeler, and at some point his truck.

:)

12. Looks like your son just joined the "old truck" club.

If you live in a rural area you've got to get a reliable old pickup. It's a rite of passage and even if you are the "millionaire next door" you've got to have one.

I moved to the mountains a couple of years ago and quickly noticed all the figures in town seemed to drive the most worn out, rusted out and old Ford pickups even though they could afford whatever they wanted.

15. Suppose you need to move a load of "Mushroom Compost" (Horse Shit)...
... or a greasy old engine. Do you really want to put that in a new truck?

If you are covered with sweat and dirt and sticky tree sap do you really want to worry about the upohlstry in a newer truck?

Our 1984 truck is the most useful vehicle we have.
