it could be any of a gazillion things. It is evasive - however, I kind of like it in that sense. Sometimes the actual truth is just too brutal to share with even close friends. "Generic conflict" seems like a classy way to put something that probably meant that they weren't right for each other in maybe a multitude of ways which may or may not be shared later. I hope she's okay. I lost a relationship recently and it's hard.
