1. Yeah, I haven't been able to get my damn potatoes in - they would just rot.
I'm pissed. The rest of the garden isn't complaining.

4. Send it here to North Georgia this weekend.
It is going to be in the high 80s and I need rain to cool it off. I hate heat and dread summer.

5. Seriously
Creeks and the river are amazingly high. Can't plant the garden or anything else. And worst of all, I can't use my new-to-me riding mower! My new toy languishes in the garage! :( Of course, I COULD have joined the flurry of mowing activity in my neighborhood this afternoon ("Quick! The rain stopped for five minutes! Get the mowers out STAT!") but the grass was still too wet and, let's face it, I was too friggin' lazy.

6. Invoke the thunder beings to push or recirculate that rain back west.
We need it just a few hundred miles west of the Mississippi. This drought is killing us!

13. I am beginning to rust!
I wonder if my garden will ever grow anything?

It has rained something like 40 out of the past 48 days. Maybe we need an ark!

15. No kidding!
I thought my house was going to float away down the street today!

The ground in my back yard is so completely sodden at this point that there are perma-puddles in the lawn everywhere. The grass is starting to look like a jungle but it never freaking stops raining long enough to cut it!

I've been here 8 years and this is the wettest spring I've seen by a mile.

17. Same here in upstate NY.
Can't seem to string three days of sunshine together.
Reminds me of two years ago. Cool wet summer. Perfect
weather to bring late blight to the tomatoes and potatoes.

they don't say! So, it's assumed that the Rapture will take place at 5:58 am, on the dot, in each individual time zone. Should be quite the show from the ISS

23. Must have something to do with the Hebrew measurements of when a day starts. I wonder why they pick.
May 21st, 2011 instead of December 21st, 2012. Would be 18 or 19 months difference, and that time in 2012 is supposed to be around midnight closer to December 22nd.

I think this is related to these stories from a few weeks back:

26. The 2012 date has nothing to do with Christianity.
That's the Mayan calendar stuff, and generally dismissed by the apocalyptic Rapture-Ready crowd. Unless they can find some biblical reference that coincides ;)

I would guess, too, that they didn't want any times or dates with sixes in them, even if 5:58 is also read as "two 'til six" :P

If you want a good resource on the various religious prophecies, here's a start:

Prophecy : A History of the Future by Robert A. Nelson

Some interesting information in there :)

there is a 20% chance of showers here tonight (that means NOT) but I could just barely smell moisture when I was feeding Stewie, and that gave me a huge thrill!

We have had just a hair over ONE INCH of rain altogether since September 19th when we had 45/100ths. Yes I measure 100ths of rain. Sometimes I get desperate and measure half hundredths:rofl:

28. I'm about to shoot myself. The only thing that gets me out of bed
is the fact that I have to go to work. What really cheeses me off, is that when it does warm up and become sunny, it will suddenly become 95 degrees and beastly humid, which won't end until it becomes cold and rainy again.

Is there any place on the planet where the weather is tolerable year round and that isn't prone to major natural disasters? Because if there is, I'm moving there.
