Had an operation today.
And my body freaked out after I got home. Laying in bed, suddenly I'm FREEZING to death. Wearing a sweat suit, three quilts on the bed. Nothing works, shaking like a leaf no matter what I do. MAN I was cold! Mrs Lasher gets in bed to snuggle and warm me up but she's a BLOCK OF ICE! But get this, she says I'm on fire. I was so hot it was uncomfortable for her to touch me.

Then all of a sudden, I feel so hot I'm decorating the ceiling fan with my sleeping togs. I still feel hot as a firecracker. Guess I'm coming down from whatever I was up on for the surgery. Don't worry, it's not unusual to go through this when I have an operation.

Check it out foxes, I'm hawt!

I assure you, I am feeling no pain and don't expect to for the foreseeable future. Just something to amuse my fellow lunge rats.

2. Thank you but it's too late for a smooth recuperation.
Long story short, hurt my foot. Today was operation number six, lost some more parts. This infection just doesn't know when to quit.

3. Sorry to hear. It sounds like a miserable situation though it'd be a good idea
to determine your temp, if you haven't done so already. Hope you regain your health quickly. :hi:

6. Thank you but it's not so bad.
It's pretty much just a flesh wound and I am being treated like a king by my family and medical staff. One thing started bothering me though. It feels like the anesthesiologist rammed a broom handle down my throat. I was out for 3 hours. Had to get out of bed to take heavy drugs.

Mmmmm, milk helps with the sore throat.

4. Where are you? The ninth circle of hell?
:P

I hope you recover quickly. Personally, I hate freezing, but being too hot never bothers me that much. Would showering help regulate your body temp some?

And I do hope y'all get that infection under control. I lost a good friend to sepsis from a leg infection. Not to scare you, but I'm sure your doctors are well-aware of this possibility. Stay on top of it!

7. I don't want to complain.
Redstone might be lurking and his tribulations make mine look like a walk in the park. So if I complain at all I could end up looking like a wimp.

I'm not permitted a shower but thank you for the idea. Have to keep weight off the foot, keep it dry, and I can't take the bandage off. I think I'm too weak to hop around in there on one leg with a bag taped over the foot anyway. I might fall.

Might seem crazy but I don't know what the name of my infection is. Doctor sent off another biopsy, along with the blade of grass she found this time, so I'll find out Tuesday when I have an office visit.

Throat still pretty sore. I dread swallowing, I'd rather hit myself in the head with a claw hammer. I might double up on the heavy stuff. Surgeon told me I could that time. She must think there will be some soreness this time.

Uh oh. My guts are telling me I'd better get on the porcelain throne real quick.

5. I had the exact same reaction after abdominal surgery a few years ago.
It's a fairly common reaction to anesthesia. It messed with the body's ability to thermo-regulate. Those systems were knocked off kilter. With me, I felt so chilled I had the shakes and my teeth were gnashing together so hard I ended up chewing on a towel so I wouldn't chip a tooth. I was freezing to death, but actually had a light fever. It was definitely not a pleasant experience, but it passed rather quickly.

8. I have two Chihuahuas
Chihuahuas love heat. The little guys have been all over me. Even without the extra heat, they love it when I'm confined to the recliner (I have to keep my foot elevated and can't put any weight on it. foot). There is a reason they are called lap dogs.

I just took the second Hillbilly Heroine. La La Land, here I come. Hope it doesn't make me act like Rush. Thanks for keeping me company.
