Poll question: Cubs - Red Sox World Series - Who would you root for?
I'm a die hard sox fan and I'd have a hard time rooting against the Cubs. I'd love to see the series but It would be sad that one team, the Cubs, would have to lose.

Two choices only.

6. there is no such thing
That is one of the biggest canards ever - and superstitious to boot.

Being on the cover of SI didn't hurt Joe Montana, Michael Jordan, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Muhammad Ali (most covers ever), Terry Bradshaw, Sonja Henning, and on and on.

Most people on the cover of SI have successful overall careers, and people only remember the bad stuff to pump up the myth of the jinx.

Xtian groups, maybe even join one. Your WS scenario would portend that the end of the world was certainly at hand. In fact, if the BoSox are involved, we can pretty much rest assured that the end of the world would happen in Game 6, 2 outs with the BoSox leading 5-3 and up 3 games to 2 (1986, anyone?).

World ends then and there - Cubs & BoSox again denied a WS win, but this time, for all eternity.

And World War 1 ended a month later. I would say that this year, Chimpy will lose a few weeks later.

10. I'd root for the Sox, only because I used to live in New England . . .
and followed them for 15 years . . . have a lot of friends up there who deserve to see the Sox win it before they die . . . but I wouldn't be upset if the Cubbies won . . . either way, there would be some really happy fans . . .

but here's my own personal World Series fantasy . . . Yankees vs. Houston Astros . . . Astros wins the Series 4 games to 3 . . . Clemens gets two of the Houston wins, Pettitte gets the other two . . . they share the MVP . . . George Steinbrenner jumps off the Brooklyn Bridge . . . :)

I'm a Twins fan, but that scenario would be awesome. Maybe A-Rod could mess up a groundball in the 9th to allow the winning run to score, too. Georgie's head would explode!!
