I have a routine where I immerse myself in a show and try to watch it all in a couple of viewings. I've done this for a couple of shows, including the last one, Leverage, which I found very much to my liking. Now, I'm watching the show, Castle. Except I'm only up to episode 5, first season, and I'm bored silly.
I don't feel very excited. I fell asleep with one of them, and at the ending, my first thoughts were: is it over? Did anything happen?
I'm not sure the show is worth it right now. I know some shows take a while to "find" their audience, but I'm afraid I don't care much about the characters, the episodes so far, or, well....anything.
I've heard some people find the characters of interest, and I know Fillion has a good amount of testosterone, but really I think I'd be asleep if his character was as boring as he lets on so far.
Even comparing the show with Leverage, I'm amazed. In my mind, Leverage has characters worth thinking about, and the shows are clever, and memorable. Castle covers little new ground. For shows based in New York, there are CSI: NY, Law and Order, and Law and Order: SVU, and a host of others, especially through the years.
Sorry if I sound like I'm just bitching, but I want some reassurance that the show is worth watching, or if I should move on to another show, which will most likely be White Collar, Warehouse 13, or something along that line, which can be found somewhere online to watch.
