Do thumb rings have special powers?

I don't normally wear a lot of jewelry, but I just got a thumb ring and I am loving it! I can't understand why I like it so much, I've never had this reaction to any jewelry.

Is there something supernatural about them, or what? Has anyone had a similar experience?
