Signs of spring!
It's been a long hard winter. This afternoon, I saw yellow crocuses showing their beautiful petals. This made my day.

How about you? Are you seeing any signs of spring?

1. My dear Sanity Claws...
Your yellow crocuses sound wonderful...

How about a picture?

Spring is coming here, in fits and starts...Some days feel like winter, and then the next moment not so much ...

The seasons move more gradually here, especially since we don't have snow to mark winter.

:hi:

2. I didn't have a camera with me
on my walk. Otherwise I would have loved to have taken a picture. I need reminding that spring is on the way.

3. The poppies are up on the hilltops.
Although, we're having a really cold spell so don't know how long they'll last. Everything is greening up. When does Spring training start? :)

4. Oh I can't wait to see that!
:bounce:

Crocuses, daffodils, tulips, ect. and even the smell of skunk (or "kunk" as my daughter, used to say )... They are all signs of spring! My sister in NJ just the other day mentioned seeing one out and about down there. :woohoo:

No, I'm seeing nothing of the sort here in Maine. But hope springs eternal as I watch a few snowless patches appear in my plowed driveway. The sun seems to have much more warmth and i find myself feeding the woodstove not nearly as often.

25 above right now w/blue sky and barely any wind. Oh beautiful day!!!

5. Dude - I still have 15 inches of snow in my backyard
If the crocuses are starting to peek out, they're going to rush right the frack back into hiding! I'll be lucky to see my crocuses in June. :(

I envy you. :hi:

6. Well, the snow
is being driven by a southerly breeze.

9. What is this "spring" of which you speak?
There's a couple of feet of snow in my yard. Out by the garage it's drifted to the top of a 4' fence. Spring? Hmmph.

10. Where is this spring of which you speak?
This morning I woke to another snowstorm.....maybe about 6 inches, not even in the forecast. I still have several feet of snow in the yard. 28 degrees at 5AM. Balmy compared to other days.

The sump pump has already started, things may be melting below the surface. The yard is supersaturated and I'll be pumping until June.

Ahh, spring....hurry the heck up!

11. I saw the first snow drops earlier this week.
Then they got snowed on. The crocuses are at least a few weeks away, maybe more like a month.

12. Just the barest sprigs and bits of buds, not even forsythia, my personal cause for celebration.
At least it's warmed up a little. I love me some Seattle but this time of year I am JONESIN' for the South!

13. Aren't the bulbs up yet?
I lived in Seattle for 21 years. My daffodils always opened around March 1 and daffodils in sunnier places opened around mid-February.

15. I saw nine Turkey Vultures the other day. That is my heralding
of spring. I am sure they are sorry they came this early. They must have been listening to that stupid rodent in Punxsutawney.

I also have crocuses up about a half inch, but that was before the snow that is on the ground again.
